I work at Komensky five days per week, though I occasionally visit other schools in District 100 to assist with screenings and evaluations. My daily schedule varies, as I work with students in preschool through fifth grade. My service delivery model ranges from an inclusion setting, where I work with students within their classrooms, to one-on-one individual therapy in my speech therapy room. Most of my speech groups consist of two, three, or four students who are of similar age and have similar speech-language goals. Group therapy assists students with social skills such as turn-taking, topic maintenance, and sharing. It often seems motivating for students to see their peers working on similar tasks, as they become mentors and mentees within the group structure. One-on-one therapy is helpful when a student has a particular need that requires individual attention and intense repetition and practice.

Mi horario varia, pues trabajo con estudiantes de pre escuela a quinto grado. Mi modelo y entrega de servicios varían desde inclusión, donde trabajo con estudiantes en su salón, terapia individual en mi salón, uno a uno. La mayoría de mis grupos consiste de dos, tres, o cuatro estudiantes que tienen edad similar y metas similares. La terapia en grupo ayuda a estudiantes con destrezas sociales tal como tomar turnos, conservación del tema, y compartir. A menudo parece motivar a los estudiantes cuando ven a sus compañeros trabajando en la misma tarea, a medida que se convierten en mentores y aprendices dentro de la estructura del grupo. Terapia uno a uno es beneficial cuando el estudiante tiene una necesidad particular que requiere atención individual y repetición intensa y practica.
